 　　Supporter

　　學過英語的童鞋都知道 support 是“支持”的意思。法語的 supporter 呢?要小心啦：這是個典型的“假朋友”，可不要上當哦!

　　法語的 supporter 是“忍受，承受，容忍”(tolerate, stand, bear, put up with)的意思.

　　要“忍受”嘛，肯定是不好的東西啦!(^v^)

　　例如：

　　Nous ne pouvons supporter un tel comportement.

　　We cannot tolerate/put up with such behaviour.

　　我們不能容忍這種行為。(是粗野無禮的行為吧?)

　　Il ne supporte pas qu'on le taquine/être taquiné sur ses cheveux roux.

　　He can't bear/stand being teased about his red hair.

　　他受不了人們拿他的紅頭發開玩笑。

　　Elle supporte courageusement son sort.

　　She endures her fate with courage.

　　她堅強地承受著命運(的重壓，考驗)。

　　Il a mal supporté sa maladie (sa solitude, cet échec).

　　He found his illness (his loneliness, that setback) hard to bear)..

　　他難以承受病痛(孤獨，此次失敗)的折磨。

　　Elle supporte tout de ses enfants sans jamais réagir.

　　She puts up with/takes anything from her children without saying a word.

　　她容忍孩子們做任何事情，從不呵責。

　　J'espère que tu n'as pas invité ton cousin. Je ne peux pas le supporter.

　　I hope you haven't invited your cousin. I can't stand/bear him.

　　希望你沒有邀請你的堂兄。我真受不了他。(你有這種堂兄嗎?^v^)

　　Dire qu'il va falloir supporter ce professeur toute une année!

　　And to think we're going to have to put up with that teacher for a whole year!

　　想想吧：咱們要在那個老師手下煎熬一整年!(^v^)

　　Ces plantes supportent assez bien le variation de température.

　　These plants withstand temperature variations quite well.

　　這些植物可以經受住很大的溫差。

　　Mon mari ne supporte pas le Roquefort (le vin rouge).

　　Roquefort (red wine) doesn't agree with my husband.

　　我丈夫吃不了洛克福羊奶酪(喝不了紅酒)。 (沒口福呀!^v^)

　　Il ne fait pas très chaud ce matin. On supporte bien un gilet.

　　It's not very warm this morning. One could do with a cardigan.

　　早上不太熱，可以穿開身毛衫。

　　Cette théorie ne supporte pas le comparaison avec d'autres.

　　This theory doesn't bear comparison with others.

　　這個理論經不起與其他理論的比較。

　　L'acheteur supportera tous les frais de notaire.

　　The buyer must bear all the legal costs.

　　買方負擔律師費用。 (承擔費用，這也是不情愿的事吧?^v^)

　　我們再看英語的 support：“支持，支撐”，一般要譯為法語的“soutenir, appuyer，aider, encourager”等。

　　例如：

　　He had hurt his leg and two boys had to support him.

　　Il s'était fait mal à la jambe et deux garçons devaient le soutenir.

　　他傷了腿，要兩個男孩扶著他。

　　I'm looking forward to supporting myself and not having to depend on anyone.

　　Je me réjouis de pouvoir gagner ma vie et de ne plus dépendre de personne.

　　我希望能自食其力，不再依靠別人。

　　If you buy these Christmas cards, you'll be supporting the blind.

　　Si vous achetez ces cartes de Noël, vous aiderez les aveugles/viendrez en aide aux aveugles.

　　如果您買這些圣誕卡，您就支持了盲人(的福利)。

　　Our research centre is supported by several big companies.

　　Notre centre de recherche reçoit l'aide (financière) de plusieurs grandes firmes.

　　我們的研究中心得到了幾個大公司的贊助。

　　More than 75 of MPs supported the motion.

　　Plus de 75 des membres du Parlement étaient pour/en faveur de/partisans de la motion.

　　超過75的議員支持該議案。

　　You are supporting a noble cause. You should be proud of yourselves.

　　C'est une bien noble cause que vous défendez. Vous pouvez être fiers de vous.

　　你們支持的是一項崇高的事業，應該為此感到驕傲。

　　They all supported (him in) his bid for the presidency.

　　Ils ont tous soutenu/appuyé sa candidature à la présidence.

　　他們都支持他競選總統。

　　There is enough proof to support his theory.

　　Il y a assez de preuves à l'appui de/pour corroborer sa théorie.

　　有足夠的證據支持他的理論。

　　Please support your local theatre by coming to this performance.

　　Encouragez votre théatre local en assistant à cette séance.

　　為支持本地的劇場，請來觀看演出!

　　We support the local football team.

　　Nous encourageons/soutenons le club de football local.

　　我們支持本地的足球隊。
